About Call a Cab Pontyberem
Started in 1995 two partners, Anthony Hughes (known as Hughesy) and Gareth Williams (known as Archie) have come a long way since they began operating two hire cars in partnership together. The first major step was the granting of a Public Service Vehicle operator licence in March 2009 which allowed the company to begin operating two 16 seat minibuses. Again, the company continued to grow and successfully applied to increase the number of coaches it was allowed to operate until, in 2014, it became a Limited Company and now operates 7 coaches and 15 licensed taxis from their base at Pontyberem.
The company is proud of its Welsh roots and the majority of its work comes from the Carmarthen area with many local organisations and sports teams counted among its regular customers. Most of its drivers are Welsh speakers and the company has a number of female licensed taxi drivers available for those who are more comfortable with a female driver. Four of our licensed taxis are fully wheelchair accessible.
We regularly supply transport for Pontyberem, Llandovery and Llandagog rugby football clubs and their supporters as well as taking supporters to the four regional clubs (Scarlets, Ospreys, Blues and Dragons) and their feeder clubs. Our minibuses and coaches are particularly busy at weekends taking supporters to many other local football and rugby matches.
With vehicles ranging between 4 and 48 passenger seats (some with wheelchair access), we are sure we can accommodate your requirements.
